Our bodies store ALL of the emotions we go through!
The good ones: love, joy, satisfaction, happiness, leave our bodies and minds feeling great. However, the bad ones: stress, anger, anxiety, worry don’t leave our bodies or our minds feeling great at all.
Movement is just one of the tools that can help. It’s as good for the mind as it is for the body.
Studies show that when we move our bodies, we release the good stuff!
Why not just go do a workout right?
If only it were that easy! For some of us, the thought of a workout is just added pressure and can end up increasing our anxiety instead of helping us to release it. I know you’re wondering how you’re supposed to fix things if something as simple as a workout is creating an issue. Let me share my secret with you, we have to take a look at what’s going on with us on the inside first.
Before we can get to our minds, we need to calm our bodies down so we can focus clearly to find out what the cause of the anxiety is and what’s triggering it. The best way I’ve found to calm the body is by using somatic movements and breathwork.
Somatic movements encourage our bodies to release the unresolved issues that they’ve been storing. The movements activate our ‘rest and digest’ response and help us to calm down and relax. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to reset your body and relax your mind every day?
